Bashley 1-2 AFC Wimbledon

A poor first half display saw the Dons go in at half time one nil down, Bashley no six had out paced Steve Gibson down the down the right and sent over a ball that Danny Gibbons got his chest to and sent the ball back across the goal pass the static Danny Naisbitt in goal who quickly claim hand ball but to no avail.

Bashley could have gone in two or three up just from free kick outside the box, one just curling pass the top corner and with the muddy conditions (which Bashley seem to coped with ok) not helping the Dons passing game hardly any chance where created apart from set pieces.

The second half was a total different game the Dons came out firing on all cylinders and after a string of chances final levelled the score on the hour make from a Ryan Gray freekick Matt Everard rose at the back post to power home a trademark ME goal to the joy of the fans behind the goal and in the bar just behind them.

With Richard Butler replacing Joe Sherrin up front nine minutes later it added an extra bit to the Dons attack and he also got onto the score sheet himself, but saw his header from another Gray ball go just wide.

Then with time running out the had another other corner Gray sent the ball over, but it alluded everyone in the six yard box and fell to Gareth Graham at the back who sent the ball back to the far post and with Matt Everard having gone off eight minutes earlier with a knee injury it was down to Martin Randall to head the ball home this time and send the fans crazy.

The Dons had the chance to make it three, but two was enough and gave the Dons the three points and extended the unbeaten run to seventy eight, but it was close and a drew would have been a fair result.

AFC Wimbledon 2-0 Dulwich Hamlet

Seventy six became seventy seven as the Dons extended the unbeaten run with ease against a lacklustre Dulwich Hamlet side, the Dons starting eleven where unchanged from the team that kicked off against Horsham during the week with Richard Butler not available due to the injury picked up in that match Leon McDowall once again started up front with Martin Randall, Wes Goggins retained his place in the starting line up and once again gave a good account of himself until a Dulwich player landed on his foot and he limped off to be replace by Ryan Gray.

With Dulwich being pegged back in their own half the chances were coming thick and fast, Steve Gibson had a fierce shot from the edge of the box come back of the post, then on thirty eight minutes Chris Gell was brought down as he went for a ball in the box and the referee award a penalty to the Dons which the Dulwich players weren't happy and lead to a bit of scrap, Ryan Gray stepped up and hit the high pass the keeper.

Dulwich gave Danny something to do after the break, but never really troubled him or the goal again in the half, the Dons had more chance's go over or wide and it wasn't until the eighty seventy minute that the second goal came, after Martin Randall and Chris Gell had both seen shots cleared away Steve Gibson came onto the ball and adjusted his shooting boots target and hit another firm shot low and this time straight into the back of the net for a well earn goal for all his hard work in the game.

Late on in the game and back from his loan to Whyteleafe, Gareth Graham came on to replace Gavin Bolger and eager to get in the game.

The referee blow his whistle for full time with hardly any injury time player and sent the 3,000 strong crowd home happy including a bunch of happy Luton fans who come down to watch us but had missed out on watching their team win four one at roundabout town.

Tuesday 16th November 2004
Horsham 1-2 AFC Wimbledon

This could have been a tricky match as Horsham showed in the league match earlier in the season that this was a tough place to come and get a result and they had the added threat up front in ex-don Jamie Taylor, but once Martin Randall struck the ball from outside the box to give the Dons the lead on the half hour mark the result never looked in doubt and it was a bit of a surprise that the second goal took another thirty odd minutes to come.

Richard Butler on at half time for the injured Martin Randall raced onto a Leon McDowall pass in the box and drilled the ball into the bottom corner.

Horsham then started to put some tough challenges in and soon after Richard Butler had to limp off himself to be replaced by Joe Sheerin, Dave Anderson was then sent off by the referee and then with five minutes left the referee award Horsham a penalty after a challenge in the box, which Horsham converted to bring the gap to just one goal, but Horsham never looked like copying the comeback that the Dons had pulled off earlier in the season and the Dons go through to the next round.

English Senior Record)
* Full List *

Three managers, fifty six different starting player, including eight different players in goal and ten subs, that's what it took to break St. Blazes record.

With the record equaled the looked to break the record at Bromley, but the game didn't start well and on sixteen minutes Danny Naisbitt went to claim the ball from a Bromley corner and was challenged unfairly by Adolph Amoako and from the challenge managed to get his head to the ball and put Bromley into the lead.

Then five minutes later Ryan Gray had to be replaced when he received a cut on his chin that later needed stitching, Ryan was replaced by Wes Goggins who settled in the position with some comfort and gave the Dons a more settled look.

The Dons then stepped up a gear and put Bromley under pressure and created some good scoring opportunities before Rob Ursell turned on the magic again and curled the ball into the top corner to level the score.

In the 2nd half the Dons seem more relaxed and started to play the ball around looking for a second goal and Bromley were hardly in the game, the Dons came close to taking the lead with some headers from a string of corners, but the 2nd goal was no forthcoming.

Bromley had a couple of late chances which Danny held onto and the referee finally blow his whistle for full time and sparked celebrations in the crowd and on the pitch as the AFC Wimbledon entered the record books.

Tuesday 9th November 2004
London Senior Cup
AFC Wimbledon 3-1 Brimsdown Rovers

Arriving at the game before the away team is not that odd, but arriving just before kick off time and finding the away team hadn't arrived as yet is, the Brimsdown Rovers coaches finally turned up at eight fifteen due to a road accident and at eight thirty the game was able to get underway.

The 1st forty five minutes saw the Dons attacking the Athletics End, the game was a bit stop and start as Brimsdown and the Linesman seem to like the sound of the refs whistle, the Brimsdown players arrived later than their coaches for some of their tackles and the Linesman would wave offside any time the ball got past the BR back eight four.

Then just before half time Rovers had a corner and as the ball came across Count D Naisbitt went up for the ball and dropped it into the crowded box and against the run of play Brimsdown Rovers had taken the lead.

In a reverse of Saturday it was the Dons that came out the quickest in the 2nd half and had had plenty of chases before they rightly levelled the score and from something similar to the BR goal the keeper was unable to clear the cross from a corner and Martin Randell was on had to stab the ball home from the edge of the six yard box

Nine minutes later the Don took the lead, again from a Ryan Gray corner on the JohnSmith side of the Westbank, it was Matt Everard that rose above the BR's defence and sent the ball into the back of the net with a METM header.

Then within a minutes it was a return of the Wizard Ursell as he took on four players sending them this way then, that way, before sending then the other way while rounding the keeper for a simple Ursell tap in.

Final score three one and through to the next round where the Dons take on Fisher Athletic at Kingsmeadow.

FA Trophy 1st Round

Hendon 3-0 AFC Wimbledon

For the first forty five minutes the Dons looked the better side, but were unable to make the possession count and went in at half time level.

That all changed after the break Hendon came out of the blocks the quickest and before the dons could settle back into the game we were two nil down, the 1st came just three minutes into the half when Hendon sent in a cross to the far post Eugene Ofori rose at planted the ball into the net.

Only another three minutes had past before the Dons where two down Mark Nicholls was given the freedom of the box and gave Danny no chance with the shot.

With the Dons looking to get back into the game Hendon sat back on soaked up the Dons pressure wrapped the game up with a third with seven minutes left when Mark Nicholls scored his second of the game and sent the Dons crashing out of the FATrophy and back down the Northern Misery Line

Tuesday 2nd November 2004
AFC Wimbledon 3-0 Fleet Town

The Dons sailed pass the Fleet with a solid and professional performance three nil win and in doing so equalling the English senior record with St. Blazey AFC on seventy five league games unbeaten.

The 1st half was pretty even and not many chance to speak of for either sides, the real entertainment came off the pitch as a band of Westbank Wombles chanted and clapped 'Anderson Yellow and Blue Army' for the full forty five plus minutes without a break well done.

In the second half the Dons step up a gear and put the Fleet's keeper under some pressure, the Dons finally breached the Fleets defences from another Ryan Gray corner just pass the hour found Steve Butler at the near post and he guided the ball with his head into the back of the net.

Eight minutes later our other Butler, Richard powered pass the last man on the half way line and headed towards goal, the keeper came out to meet him on the edge of the box, but Richard rounded the keeper and from an very acute angle knocked the ball towards the which then hit the inside of the far post and rolled in.

New signing from Crystal Palace Gary Prigent made his debut on seventy eight minutes when Mr.Anderson made a double substitution also bring on Gavin Bolger to replace Rob Ursell and Martin Randell and almost immediately had a chance similar to Richard Butlers goal, but the defender was able to challenge him before he got into the box.

The third goal came from the spot, from a shot on goal that had been blocked Ryan Gray picked up the loose ball in the box and went to round the keeper who took his legs away while going down for the ball, Ryan picked himself up and place the ball on the spot then it a firm shot straight pass the keeper.
